He participated intensive German language courses and workplace training courses in Germany between 1972 and 1973. In 1976, he trained an internship in the German Railways for 3 months with the IAESTE scholarship in Germany. During his undergraduate education at Firat University, where he was enrolled in 1973, he coded programs using FORTRAN programming language. He graduated from Firat University as the top students of the department in 1977 and started his master's degree at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), at Nuclear Energy Institute in the same year. He completed his master's thesis on computer simulation (using FORTRAN programming language). He received the degree of MSc in 1979. He started his career as an engineer at the ITU Research Reactor in 1978, continued as a "Research Assistant" at Firat University in 1979 and started his doctorate education at Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ), Institute of Sciences in the same year.
